Bush for a second term as the nation's 43rd President. I am pleased to be able to offer you tickets to this event. I can confirm 1 tickets for you for the swearing-in ceremony. These tickets will be available in my office the morning of the event, Thursday, January 20, beginning at 7:30 a.m. I urge you to pick up your tickets early so you may be in line for optimal viewing location; tickets do not guarantee a specific spot for viewing but only guarantee you access to specially marked venues. Gates to the viewing areas open at 9:00 a.m. The pre- program begins at 10:30. Security will be very tight and very intense. You will be required to pass through metal detectors and/or be subjected to wand frisks. All persons no matter their age must have and show a ticket to enter the viewing area. In addition only cameras will be allowed in to the secured area. No umbrellas, no baby strollers, no binoculars, no backpacks or any similar extraneous equipment will be allowed. If you attempt to bring these items in, they will be confiscated and not returned. Please remember that this event is outdoors and Washington, DC is very cold in January! Dress appropriately to stay warm. Also be aware that access to rest facilities will be limited. I strongly advise you to take public transportation (bus or subway) to the Capitol for this event as all streets will be blocked to traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m. that morning and there is no public parking near the Capitol. Taxis will not be able to drop off persons any closer than 4 blocks away. If you require special services because of a disability, please let me know. Arrangements can be made to accommodate your access needs but I must emphasize that there are no special tickets for persons with disabilities. My office is located in the Longworth House Office Building, at the corner of Independence and New Jersey Avenues, room 1221 (directly south of the Capitol Building). If you have any questions about the Inaugural ceremony, please call my office at 202-225-2861 and speak to Rochelle Dornatt on my staff. The tickets I am providing you are for the actual Inaugural ceremony only. If you desire tickets for the Inaugural Parade or the Inaugural Ball, those tickets can be purchased separately by calling 202-314-2600, or on-line at www.inaugural05.com. Thank you for letting me assist you on this historic occasion. I look forward to seeing you on January 20! Sincerely, Sam Farr Member of Congress, CA-17
