Hello Everybody,

Nothing that exciting has happened lately but I thought I'd share a few thoughts and images to keep you all informed as to what I'm up to.

The last four days I have found a routine or ritual that suits me. I get up and head over on the Metro to the White House for a circumnavigation and then have breakfast. I pee in the White House Visitor Center bathroom and then head over to the Capitol for a circumnavigation and then I climb the steps of the Supreme Court. I carry a sign all the while. I greet people I meet and chat if they're up for it. Here is the language on the signs I carry:

For the White House:

For the Capitol:

Something different happens every day. Yesterday near the White House I was "interviewed" by a reporter from Spain. Foreign journalists are curious what the heck is happening in the United States. I also met another person at the Capitol who was carrying a sign [in a "solo parade" like me]:

This woman is a high school history teacher. She is also a cancer patient currently undergoing treatment yet still she wanted to come out. She was very vigilant about masking and distancing. I admired her courage.

Today there was a larger crowd in front of the Supreme Court:

Instead of joining them I talked with this person across the street:

I'm enjoying my daily trek. It's a lot of walking (good exercise!) and Metro riding but it gives me something to DO. Like a "job". Tanya understands dogs really well. She has said "Smart dogs need jobs." So this is my job.

Also today there was a group - Moms for America who were holding a "press conference":

As I walked around the front of the Ellipse I saw a group of people. They were waiting for Marine One to come pick up President Trump to take him to North Carolina for a rally and to Florida for the "town hall". I hung out with them and propped up my sign. See the White House in the far background:

A week ago on October 8th I saw this ad on a web site and took a screenshot:

Here's a cropping of the ad from the Trump committee:

I found this quite disturbing. The image of Biden is manipulated to an extreme degree. The left side is in shadow and on the right it is obscured with an out of focus object. And his right ear seems to have been chopped. Very disturbing. I wondered how widely they would distribute this disgusting ad. Today I found it on the New York Post website and on the respectable website time.com:

Disturbing.

As an antidote to that image here are some signs in front of Lafayette Park - a place traditionally used for free speech expressions:

And two more things I saw in my wanderings:

Tanya found this image (which I'm going to try and draw on a sign I carry):

This evening I watched the Trump "town hall" and was encouraged to see that the moderator and citizens posed challenging pointed questions and would not let him blather on doing his usual spewing of distractions and half-truths.

I watched some of the rally in North Carolina and saw the large enthusiastic crowd. It was disturbing to witness the master demagogue and see how he was stirring up the masses.

Time will tell.

I will continue my circumnavigations as I don't know what else to do.

Be well. Stay safe.
Jon
